Abstract

The Hymenoptera contains many species of parasitoids, which play an essential role in controlling insect pests. The chalcid wasps act as primary parasitoids of Lepidoptera, Diptera, Coleoptera, and Hymenoptera, parasitizing their host in the mature larva or pupa stages. In this research, we recorded parasitic events associated with chalcid wasps for the first time in the pupal stages of Talides hispa Evans, 1995 (Lepidoptera: Hesperiidae). It was observed the emergency, 11 and 17 parasitoids emerged, respectively, corresponding to the Brachymeria annulata wasp (Crawford, 1914) (Hymenoptera: Chalcididae). Additionally, data on the biology and ecology of both the parasitoid and its host are provided.
