Abstract

This paper reports the creation of the Osteological Collection of Marine Fishes in the National Aquarium of Cuba. Most of the specimens were collected mainly in the northern coast in front of the National Aquarium of Cuba, María la Gorda in the Guanahacabibes National Park and Cayo las Brujas in Caibarién, during the period from 2018 to 2021. Each specimen captured for incorporation into the collection passed three phases: identification, processing and storage. This collection has skeletons of disarticulated specimens belonging to 5 orders, 18 families, 26 genera and 37 species, which increases the scientific and patrimonial value of the collections of the National Aquarium of Cuba.
